Big Garden Birdwatch

Sign up to join in with the big garden birdwatch. Spend an hour counting the birds you might see in your garden, or from your balcony or even on a walk and then tell them what you've seen.

Bird Watch

Look what I saw out of my window this morning! Can you identify what bird it is? Have you managed to spot any birds out of your windows? In your garden? Or on a walk? If you took photos or drew pictures, why don't you upload them to eexat, we'd love to see them.

Visitor

Look what came to visit this morning. Have you seen a squirrel in your garden too?

ICE

With the weather being very cold, why don't you help your child to fill containers with water and leave them outside overnight? If it freezes, in the morning bring them in and look at them, talk about what has happened to the water. Add some salt, warm or cold water. What do you notice happens? does anything happen? what happens to the ice? add some food colouring or paint as it melts. Re-freeze it again, do something different this time. If it won't be cold outside why don't you freeze the water in the freezer at home and do the same with it. This will give you a chance to talk to your children and listen to their explanations. Take photos of the ice melting, upload them to eexat for us to see. Have fun!!

Outside

If you go out in your garden or for a walk, look around you, what do you see? You can talk about the weather, the trees, what you hear and see. Can you see any animals? minibeasts? If you don't go out, look out of a window, what do you see? hear? smell? Why not write and draw what things you saw? Send a photo to eexat so we can look too!
