At Whipperley we are committed to the ensuring that all our children achieve their potential to ensure this we offer a curriculum which is practical, meaningful, engaging and fun, enabling our children to be confident and happy learners.
Special Educational Needs Policies and Inclusion
At Whipperley Infant Academy we believe in achievement, ambition and progress for all children. We aim to meet the needs of individual children through highly effective teaching and learning. There is an emphasis on early identification of needs through supportive and preventative strategies which reduce barriers to learning. We work in a flexible way to develop effective partnerships with children and their parents/carers. We work closely with a range of external professionals such as speech and language therapists, educational psychologists, occupational therapists and child and adolescent health services (CAMHS) to ensure that the school can meet a broad range of special educational needs.
Our SENCO is April Hurp and if you have any concerns or wish to discuss your child's needs she can be contacted on 01582 725868
Child Protection and Safeguarding Policies:
The health, safety and well-being of all our children are of paramount importance to all the adults who work in our school. Our children have the right to protection regardless of age, gender, culture or disability. They have a right to be safe in our school. Our school fully recognises the contribution it can make in protecting children from the risk of significant harm and supporting and promoting the welfare of all children who are registered pupils at our school. The key elements of our policy are prevention, protection and support.
