  • Maths Event - Tuesday 5/11/2024

Tue 05 Nov 2024 Cheryl Kelly

Maths Event at Whipperley Infant Academy—Tuesday 05/11/2024

We held a Maths event where parents and carers had the opportunity to come along after school and to find out how to play some of the games that will be sent home as part of our KS1 maths parent project. The games are part of a home learning project from the National Centre for excellence in teaching mathematics and they are designed to help your children learn all their addition and subtraction facts to 10 and then to 20 off by heart. In Early Years, parents and children had fun taking part in activities linked to their current learning in class. If you were unable to attend, there will be a chance to find out more about our home learning project at next week’s parents evening.

Some quotes from parents and children:

“We always come to these events. They’re very helpful. The games are really fun and they help them learn.” “If we have these sent home we wouldn’t know what to do. It was exciting for her. She loves school.” “The stem sentences were really helpful as well because then we know how to support our children.”
