One parent asked if there are opportunities to talk about their child at times other than parents’ evening? Teachers are always delighted to talk to you about your children.  If you have any concerns or want some clarification please send a note in with your child and their class teacher will arrange a time to meet or will be happy to telephone you at a  convenient time.  If it is just a quick chat, please speak to the member of staff on your year group gate in the morning.

5% of parents surveys indicated that they were concerned about the behaviour in the school.    With 270 children, who are growing up and learning, some incidents will always arise, but I am confident that the behaviour in this school is good.  However, we are never complacent and are always reviewing our policy and approach.  If any parents would like to take an hour one morning and join me for a learning walk to see our school in action I would be delighted to  welcome you.

A small number of parents were unsure about the expectations from the home learning logs and asked if there could be more information.  At the beginning of the year, all parents are invited to a ‘meet the teacher’ event to discuss home learning but in response to the questionnaire we will be putting on an additional session for parents in the new year.  Don’t forget to come and visit our fortnightly coffee mornings in the Rainbow room too, and you can learn about an aspect of your child’s  education or just come and have a chat.

In November 2015 we were lucky enough to have 144 Parents complete our Parents and Carer Questionnaire.  Please see below the final analysis and our responses below.

Following on from the results of your parental questionnaire we have listened and made a number of changes;

  • Following the questionnaire from further consultation we have introduced a new behaviour policy
  • We have introduced more clubs before and after school
  • We have led sessions to help parents understand about our learning logs

We will continue to strive to work in partnership with our parents to ensure that Whipperley Infant Academy is the best possible school.
